It is time to move on to a new thought process or resource! I discovered the Adventure Devotions are very limited as an on-line resource - you have to buy the book to get more than 12! So today is a transition day - filled with an outdoor worship service here in Bandon coupled with my prayers for the week.
"All Creation sings a song of praise to God!" was our response during one of the morning's litanies. As Bobbi went on during her brief sermon, I listened to the sea gulls sing their songs, the crows in response. I heard the wind rustle in the pines as well as felt the cool air rush by my cheeks! Unwanted and scraggly dandelions were bright spots of yellow on a grass turning ochre and brown in the drought affected coast. Yet...all creation sings of God! We were given time to wander our surroundings and draw or write a response to some part of the natural world that spoke to us. I found first the dandelions and then some dying shafts of wheat grass.
The rainbow on the drawing, filled with the prayers for the week, comes from the beautiful rainbow we witnessed while at the Boston concert in Salt Lake City this past week. An outdoor concert and the thunderclouds filled the skies. Just as the Doobie Brothers were starting the opening act, this huge rainbow began to spread. It ended up a double rainbow with parts of it lasting for 45 minutes. Simply awesome. All Creation sings a song of praise to God!
