LENT 2026: THE HARDEST PART

 THE HARDEST PART:

Hurt We Carry, Hope We Find

LENT DEVOTIONS 2026

For my Lenten devotions this year, I am using a free online resource I found.  Since our lives seem to be a patchwork of highs and lows, hurts and hopes, I thought using a framework of a nine-patch design might be appropriate.  Within each day's design you will find the daily focus, a short scripture, a summary haiku of my writing, my prayers, and a couple related photos.  I like the writing of this particular devotion as it includes, in addition to a scripture reflection, a suggested response - some concrete action or consideration we might take.

My cousin told me about a web site 'Morning Altars' and after taking a look, I decided it would be a fun way to REST on the Sundays of Lent.  The idea is to create a mandala type altar from natural elements.  I went out to my labyrinth and gathered together some pine cones, rocks, and some raspberry canes I had pruned from the burn pile.  Simple 'altar' made, photo taken, and then I went inside and did some digital editing to add my s'mores; hence, a combination of devotions!  Fun!

And here's my 'altar' illustration!
