From the opening of the devotion: "As Lent begins, we set out on a solemn 47 day journey to Easter. "A New Day Dawns", the theme of SoSA's Lenten devotional program, is based on the scripture verse in 2 Corinthians with a focus on new beginnings:
Therefore, we do not lose heart. Though outwardly, we are wasting away, inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. (2 Cor 4:16-18)
"Based on this verse or another favorite scripture, these devotions were written to feed your spiritual hunger and inspire you to recognize and thank God for you new beginnings."
While I have included each day's author's scripture on my picture and the title of their devotion, the script below that title is my own reflection for the verse and day. My sunrise photos reflect new dawns and my daily prayers surround the sides. Many of the sunrise pictures were taken, either as I gaze out my morning nook window or as I walk the countryside with my neighbors each day.
